The Satish and Yasmin Gupta College of Business is boldly reinventing graduate business education. In August, under the leadership of Dean J. Lee Whittington, PhD, the college launched a revamped curriculum aimed at enriching instruction by explicitly aligning its courses with the university’s Catholic intellectual tradition.
The curriculum’s foundation is the Gupta Core: The Virtuous Leader, The Effective Communicator and Business and the Common Good, courses which lay the foundation of virtuous Christian leadership for the good of others and teach students to utilize communication skills rooted in the triumvirate: grammar, logic and rhetoric.
New courses integrate topics like operations, marketing and technology together, preparing students for real-world business experience where those disciplines are rarely siloed.
“Great curriculum really begins with faculty.”

Curriculum updates also include a complete rebuild of the recording studio and new video lectures for online classes that match exactly what’s being taught in the classroom. In addition, the College of Business will continue to welcome executives-in-residence to teach alongside faculty, who are themselves scholar-practitioners, to better prepare students for professional leadership.
