INDOOR SPOTS
#1: Frassati's
Opened in 2025, Frassati's quickly became many students' go-to spot for hanging out and studying. Located right next to the Cap Bar and rotating quick-serve food options, nothing can beat this incredible space. Frassati's, named after recently canonized St. Pier Giorgio Frassati, boasts comfortable booths, high tables and window nooks, creating the perfect place for reading Homer, writing papers in Latin or studying for that theology exam next Tuesday!

#2: The Dumb Ox
The Dumb Ox, named after St. Thomas Aquinas' childhood nickname, is our newly renovated on-campus pub with an adjacent fast-casual lunch counter selling sushi, sandwiches, tacos, pasta and more. Many students who don't mind the sound of student chatter and TV gather at the Dumb Ox ("Ox" for short) to study over lunch. Study groups also like to gather on the comfy couch next to the fireplace for some lengthy discussions.

#6: Haggerty Science Center Window Nooks
It's very rare to find these nooks empty, because they are a campus-wide student favorite! These nooks are very comfortable and provide a nice view of the Mall from indoors. This is the perfect spot to focus on finishing your calculus equations or physics lab report before it's due tomorrow!
OUTDOOR SPOTS
#1: Outside the Capp Bar
Just outside the renowned UDallas Cap Bar, there is a lovely study area shaded by a blanket of winding vines, making it the perfect outdoor hangout and study spot! Many students gather here on warmer days to finish their homework and discuss that week's readings from Virgil or Dostoevsky.
#2: Constantin Memorial Garden
Located just outside the Gorman Faculty Lounge in the center of the Mall, this patio garden is a cozy spot that's great for people-watching. This is also a favorite outdoor study spot for many students who are finishing their papers or studying for finals.
#3: Outside Braniff
Part of Braniff's incredible architecture — besides the sunroof and beautiful library, of course — are the benches built into the walls outside. You can sit and look down the mall toward the Tower, or you can go to the other side and get a view of SB Hall and the big blue sky. Outdoor tables also surround the exterior. No matter where you sit, this is a perfect reading place in a great outdoor setting.
#4: Dorm Hall Balconies
In all the dorm halls, there's at least one outdoor balcony with outdoor seating, enclosed so no one can interrupt you while you're heavily focused on Milton. These spots can be accessed through the dorm building, and you don't even have to leave the vicinity of your dorm hall to get your sunshine!
#5: The Church of the Incarnation Lawn/Amphitheater
Completed in August 2025, the Church of the Incarnation Lawn and Amphitheater is quickly becoming a popular place for students who love studying outdoors. Immerse yourself in the beauty of the blooming cherry blossoms and walk barefoot on the thick green grass while trying to memorize some Spanish vocab. The stone benches are perfect for study groups who love to stay awhile and debate philosophical matters. After studying, students can simply hop over to church to pray for upcoming exams.
